Abstract

The objective of this work was to analyze hybrid teaching in a Higher Education Institution in the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte/MG – Brazil, when face-to-face subjects are associated with a virtual platform, in this case, the Moodle platform. The case study method is used using the content analysis technique through semi-structured in-depth interviews. In particular, it appears that digital technologies optimize the teaching and learning process; in hybrid teaching, the teacher must be able to make the distance scenario an extension of the in-person moment, and not a complement to it; in the organization of the remote learning environment, the relevance of the content is closely linked to the students' motivation and interests; the tools used in Moodle promote interaction and collaboration between students and between students and teachers; in remote activities, teachers must be more adept at practicing activities linked to motivation and validation of students' contributions; Moodle has high potential for extensibility and support for different learning styles; and it is necessary to implement gamification as a tool to support the teaching and learning process in higher education.
