Problemas en el uso de los términos cualitativo/cuantitativo en Investigación Educativa

Abstract

Cada día son más los autores que se muestran partidarios de utilizar la metodología cualitativa en sus investigaciones (Filstead, 4986, Taylor y Bogdan, 1986, etc.). Sin embargo, resulta difícil ofrecer hoy día una conceptualización clara de dicha noción debido a que se utilizan muchas veces los términos cualitativo (Q) y cuantitativo (C) sin especificar su significado concreto, o bien, se mencionan de forma polisémica. Es más, los autores discrepan incluso en la identificación de los distintos usos que se hacen de los términos en cuestión. Con objeto de solucionar estos problemas, hemos considerado conveniente buscar nuevos criterios y/o reformular los ya existentes.
