History of the journal

Cuestiones Pedagógicas was created in 1983 by María Nieves Gómez García (Professor of the History of Education) and Pedro Antonio Luque Domínguez (Senior Lecturer of Social Pedagogy). At that time, the Pedagogy Section of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters brought together all the staff devoted to Education Science in a single Department.
During these first years, the journal disseminated research activity of the three scientific fields integrated in the former Section: Theory and History of Education, Didactics and Methodology.
From the establishment of the Faculty of Education and consequently of its departments until the year 1994, Cuestiones Pedagógicas was the sole journal of the Faculty. In that year, the Department of Theory, History of Education and Social Pedagogy assumed the management of the journal.
Cuestiones Pedagógicas was originally published annually, until 2020 when it started to produce two numbers a year. The Journal structure has been maintained with the following sections: paper for the Special Issue, Miscellaneous papers, and Reviews. Contributions include original works on Theory of Education, the History of Education and Social Pedagogy.
