Abstract

This study aims to analyze the state of the art in the teaching and promotion of social entrepreneurial competencies in higher education, providing a global perspective on their inclusion in the university environment and exploring future outlooks. To achieve this, a systematic review of 55 articles from the Scopus database, published over the last five years, was conducted. The analysis included a bibliometric study and a detailed examination of the content of the selected articles. The research addressed various aspects, such as entrepreneurial intention, leadership, sustainability, best practices, and limitations related to gender perspectives. These approaches highlight the multidimensional nature of social entrepreneurial competencies, emphasizing their importance in training professionals capable of addressing social challenges and driving change. The findings underscore that integrating social entrepreneurship into university curricula is a crucial step toward building a more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable society. Additionally, key areas for strengthening these competencies were identified, demonstrating the need for a systematic approach to foster their development from an educational and social perspective. This analysis lays the groundwork for future research and practical proposals.
