Abstract

Practice has long been an important feature of adult learning and adult learning debates. In evaluations of adult-centred university programmes, it is common to give importance to this aspect of learning and life trajectory. In this case, the emphasis is on the life experiences of adults. This is based on the belief, following Freire, that people's specific life situations are the starting point for effective learning. In this perspective, therefore, the different places of practice (family, work, community, etc.) are seen as important places of learning.
