Entornos virtuales asíncronos como contextos de aprendizaje colaborativo

Resumen

Las posibilidades de conexión e interacción que ofrecen las TIC abren interesantes perspectivas para el diseño de entornos de aprendizaje que trasciendan a las propuestas educativas lineales de la enseñanza de tipo transmisivo. En estos nuevos escenarios, el papel de los estudiantes como mediadores en la construcción del conocimiento de sus iguales adquiere gran relevancia y las TIC se convierten en un instrumento privilegiado al permitir el análisis de las interacciones que tienen lugar en dichos procesos. En este estudio analizaremos cómo se desarrolla una interacción colaborativa mediada tecnológicamente a través del correo electrónico entre un grupo de estudiantes. Mostraremos cómo las actividades realizadas muestran características propias de la colaboración y los estudiantes despliegan una serie de pautas, procesos y mecanismos de colaboración típicos, reajustándolos y adaptándolos a las características de asincronía y escritura del correo electrónico.
