Peer review process

The publication process follows this process:

Phase 1. The Editor-in-Chief acknowledges receipt of the article to the journal within one week.

Phase 2. The manuscript is assigned to the team of Associate Editors and the Co-editor responsible for the translation. They assess whether the article meets the rules of style and suitability for the content as set out in the editorial criteria. This process takes approximately two weeks.

Phase 3. The manuscript is sent to two reviewers from institutions different from the one of the authors. The journal uses a double-blind review system. The reviewers have four weeks to send the evaluation report of the manuscript to the Editor-in-Chief or Associate Editor in charge of this task. The evaluation reports admit three possibilities: publishable, non-publishable or publishable with modifications.

 a) In the event that the evaluations of the two reviewers are different, the article will be sent to a third reviewer who, within four weeks, will send the corresponding evaluation report to the person who assumes the role of Editor-in-Chief or Associate Editor.

b) In the event that the article is accepted for publication, but subject to modifications, the corresponding author will make the corrections suggested by the reviewers and will have to send the revised article back to the journal in two weeks. The Editor-in-Chief, in collaboration with the Associate Editors, will verify that the modifications have been incorporated and/or that any errors or omissions have been corrected in the first version of the manuscript. In the event that not all the changes suggested by the reviewers have been included, the corresponding author will notify the Editor-in-Chief in writing, clearly indicating and justifying the reasons why such changes have not been made in the final version.

Phase 4. A person from the Technical Board will be responsible for proofreading and editing final version of each article.

The complete process of editing the issues of the journal, which is published every six months, lasts a maximum of six months.

Phase 5. Once the article has been accepted for publication, the Editor-in-Chief, in collaboration with the team of Associate Editors, will publish the final version. The Editorial Board reserves the right to publish the articles in the issues and sections they deem relevant.
