The current study aims to evaluate the impact of the Poñendo os Lentes program, a training program for preschool, elementary, middle, and high school teachers with the aim of providing tools to detect and prevent Child Sexual Abuse (CSA). We analyzed whether a group of 20 teachers trained through the Poñendo os Lentes program and a group of 25 untrained professionals, both from urban areas of Galicia (80% women, aged between 25 and 64 years), differed in terms of their knowledge regarding CSA. A questionnaire assessing teacher’s knowledge about CSA using 44 items was administered (Del Campo & López, 1997). Overall, findings showed that Poñendo os Lentes program has a positive impact since teachers who attended the program reported a significantly higher level of knowledge about CSA compared to untrained teachers. As for items in which no significant differences were found, both groups showed high rates of correct answers. Hence, there is a need to create programs that offer new, essential, and updated information related to CSA to teachers. Results are encouraging, since short programs on CSA, such as Poñendo os Lentes, can increase teachers' knowledge.
