PRESENCIAS LITERARIAS, AUSENCIAS HISTÓRICAS: RESCATANDO FIGURAS FEMENINAS DEL PASADO DE LA MANO DE ESCRITORAS ITALIANAS

Resumen

En el presente estudio se abordará el tema de la novela histórica italiana desde una perspectiva que ha sido –y es- escasamente reconocida en los estudios literarios, esto es, “femenina”. El resultado de la incorporación de la mujer a la narrativa histórica supone un evidente distanciamiento, en ciertos aspectos, de la novela histórica tradicional ya que, por un lado, se cuestiona la validez de la historiografía tradicional al hacer evidente la falta de la presencia femenina y, por otro, se exige la creación de un espacio propio dentro de la historia a través de las formas literarias. Así, a finales de los años sesenta, y coincidiendo con el empuje del movimiento feminista, las mujeres comienzan a luchar por construir su lugar en la historia y en la literatura, donde poco a poco puedan ir reconociéndose como sujetos históricos, siempre presentes y, por lo tanto, dignos de estudio.

Abstract

In the present study, the subject of the Italian historical novel will be approached from a perspective that has been –and scarcely- recognized in literary studies, that is, “feminine”. The result of the incorporation of women into the historical narrative supposes an evident distancing, in certain aspects, from the traditional historical novel since, on the one hand, the validity of the traditional historiography is questioned by making evident the lack of the feminine presence and, on the other, the creation of their own space within history is required through literary forms. Thus, at the end of the sixties, and coinciding with the push of the feminist movement, women began to fight to build their place in history and in literature, where little by little they could be recognized as historical subjects, always present and, therefore, worthy of study.
