Abstract

Faced with the problems surrounding the constitution of identities and the articulation of difference in the social body, the main border that has delineated the field of feminism has been the one that divides men and women based on gender relations. Despite the fact that such a frame covers different emphases according to the different geographies, disciplines and within them, to the various traditions and theoretical currents, it would be difficult to argue against the fact that, in practice, the notion of gender has been the cornerstone for the consecration of feminist theory from the 1960s and 1970s. However, the progressive appearance of differences within the supposed identity of "the woman", be these differences of class, ethnicity, nationality, or sexual orientation, as well as the influence of poststructuralism, has given rise to the question of such homogeneity and with the reconsideration of the unitary construction not only of identity, but also of subjectivity.
