Abstract
At present we are witnessing the expansion of Digital Libraries and Repositories in the Web. We can find services aimed at different objectives and addressed to different contexts and knowledge areas. We can spot a large number of Web Services, Social Networks, Portals, etc., that contain Learning Objects for Teacher Education, but it is quite difficult to find services specifically aimed at this field. In this work we present Share.TEC, a specific repository for Teacher Education created between 2008-2011. The Portal started from a Project framed in the eContentplus Programme of the European Commission (whose main objective was to make digital content more accessible and reusable in Europe). Throughout our experience as participants in the project, we detected the main strengths and weaknesses related to the creation process and the system itself. Teacher educators represent an essential component for designing Portal improvements. In addition, their role is essential to detect the main features that this kind of systems must take into consideration. Therefore we will mainly focus on the technological and pedagogical aspects that underlie Share.TEC to offer a few keys that came out from our research to redefine this kind of systems.
