The crises that humanity is going through are responsible for several social and economic transformations. The evolution of society, generational changes and the impact that technology has had on the movement of people, goods and businesses result in some of the causes of greater precariousness in work relationships. Social protection is at a crossroads: the number of vulnerabilities has increased and the needs to be met often go beyond the economic strengths of States. The entrepreneurial worker is a figure that emerged in the open spaces left by labor law and is becoming an increasingly larger group and should be included in the social protection and decent work program. It is up to States to carry out adequate management of worker protection, as well as companies to act with social responsibility and due diligence. Only in this way will it be possible to achieve economic and social development, allowing worker-entrepreneurs to be removed from the shadows of precariousness.
