Abstract

Kate O'Brien is a leading author on contemporary Irish literature. Her works reflect the reality of women who face a conservative and patriarchal society. His close relationship with Spain led to two of his novels being inspired by this country, Mary Lavelle and That Lady. His works show strong women who evolve throughout their lives until they find their identity.
