USE OF LEXICAL RESOURCES WITH INTENSIFYING VALUE IN CONTEMPORARY YOUTH LITERATURE: DISCOURSE ANALYSIS OF LAURA GALLEGO`S FEMALE CHARACTERS

This article aims to highlight the relationship between the feminine discourse and the gender stereotypes that have traditionally prevailed in our society, as well as the way in which they can manifest themselves in a communicative exchange. The differences in the processes of social interaction between people of different sexes, the analysis of the linguistic mechanisms used by each of the genders, and the effect that their use may have on the contrary, will provide us with the necessary bases to establish the level of stereotypes existing in a work of contemporary Youth Literature. For this, it has been decided to study the effects of courtesy on all kinds of speech acts in the female characters in Laura Gallego’s creative production, focusing especially on the type of intensification mechanisms employed.
