Communiars. Journal of Image, Arts and Social and Critical Education has published an extraordinary issue: a special edition that reflects on the current pandemic situation from the perspective of education and the arts.

What do the arts have to say, contribute and promote in a situation like the one we are living? This is the reflexive premise from which we start, the starting point to develop the present special issue of our magazine Communiars. We are witnessing a moment of social exceptionality on an international scale due to the pandemic caused by the COVID-19, an extraordinary situation that is having a decisive influence on our cultural, scientific, educational, emotional, psychological and social relations. Following the example of our dear colleagues from the scientific journal Postdigital Science and Education and the initiative of its editor Petar Jandrić, we present this collective proposal for reflection and analysis. We propose a collective and proactive text, written and visual, which aims to contribute to the reflective discourse from the arts and their education. A plural document that is shown as an international conversation (Argentina, Chile, USA, Brazil, Switzerland, France, Croatia, Spain and Greece) in which we find teaching and research colleagues of world reference and also the participation of students from different educational levels (among them are the signatures of Peter McLaren, Ana Mae Barbosa, Kerry Freedman, Dipti Desai or Teresa Eça)

From the coordination of the magazine we thank everyone for their involvement and commitment. Omnia sunt communia.
