Comunicación negativa como estrategia electoral el caso de la elección local en Jalisco, México 2006

El ensayo hace una revisión crítica de la comunicación política de impronta negativa (campañas negativas) usada durante la campaña electoral del 2006 para un gobierno local en el estado de Jalisco, México. Contrario a lo que señalan algunos analistas y expertos en comunicación, el escrito apunta que este tipo de comunicación (campaña) generó una mayor participación ciudadana y, por lo tanto, una reducción del abstencionismo. Se concluye, que este tipo de prácticas, muy comunes en los países de América latina, inciden en el debilitamiento de la democracia en la región.
