Abstract

This article stresses the importance of choir fumiture in liturgical life of Parish and Collegiate Churchs. On the one hand, History shows that there have been severa( choir stalls which have been suscessively substituted in the temple, either because of changes of stylistic fashions or because of bad conservation
conditions due to their antiquity. It is also importan! to point out the changes of location inside the building itself: from the central nave in the forme christianized mosque to the presbytery of the new baroque church, and afterwards back again to the next to last stretch of the central nave. At the end of the 19th century, the stall was placed by the organ gate and close to the main entrance. Finally, it was dismantled and partially handed over to the San Andrés Parish, while the rest of the seats still preserved are located al the en trance of the sacristy and the presbytery.
