Abstract

The civil architecture developed by European settlements in Asia during the eighteenth century has been scarcely studied. The lack of sources and preserved buildings has led to neglect this factor when writing the cultural history of elites in this area. Therefore this paper tries to show some transnational phenomena as well as local particularities.
