Aims and scope

Hábitat y Sociedad is a scientific journal of the Seville University Press (Editorial de la Universidad de Sevilla), with international arbitration, of annual periodicity, which is published in November. Its main objective is the dissemination of articles that contribute to a complex understanding of the social habitat and the right to the city, prioritizing research on participatory processes for the achievement of the right to the city and the recovery of the balance of the social habitat with the ecosystem. It is an interdisciplinary journal insofar as we understand social habitat as a complex concept that is generated by the dynamic interaction of physical, social, cultural, economic, legal, environmental and political situations, on scales that go from housing to territory.

It promotes the creation of multidisciplinary views in order to build inter and trans disciplinary knowledge. The editorial team of the journal shares, and wants to promote with this publication, the complex perspective of the functions of the University as an interaction between the construction of knowledge, education and social transformation oriented towards the achievement of the common good. In this sense, there will be room for articles that are the result of research projects, teaching experiences and participatory experiences of transformative action on the habitat. We want the journal to become a benchmark in this transdisciplinary field as a quality scientific journal.

The magazine is structured in three content sections. In the first section, the papers that conceptually develop the monographic theme will be published. The second section, Miscellany, is open to contributions about the general topics of the journal. The papers received in these two sections are peer-reviewed, following the double-blind system.

The third section, L.E.D. (Readings, Events and Debates) consists of short articles about new bibliographic references, outcomes of congresses, experiences and debates. Articles are accepted for publication in Spanish, English and other Romance languages. These articles are reviewed directly by the editor of the journal
