El ritual de la apertura de la boca en la tradición religiosa fenicio-púnica

Resumen

En la presente publicación se propone la existencia dentro de la tradición fenicio-púnica del conocido como ritual de la apertura de la boca. Para ello, en primer lugar se analizan las partes de las que estaba y está compuesto este ceremonial en las religiones egipcia, mesopotámica, hebrea, hindú y budista. En todos los casos se observa que con dicha liturgia se pretende purificar las estatuas de culto para que la esencia de la deidad pueda vivir y actuar desde ellas antes de introducirlas en el sancta sanctorum del templo. Solamente en el caso egipcio se observa que esta ceremonia se realizaba también a los difuntos para hacer que éstos pudieran ver, oír y hablar tras su fallecimiento. Por último, se ponen en relación con este ritual varias piezas y contextos religiosos de clara filiación fenicio-púnica que guardan estrechos paralelos con los objetos empleados en exclusiva dentro de la liturgia egipcia.
