HOW WILL WE ALL LIVE TOGETHER? MESSAGES FROM INSIDE ARCHITECTURE

The synchronicity and synchronicity of the proposal and publication of this issue of PpA dedicated to common space, with the XVII Venice Biennale, convened under the question "How will we live together?", offers the opportunity to compare, bridging distances, two ways of approaching emerging statements of the spaces of encounters. Beyond the inevitable commonplace around the COVID-19 pandemic, there are other coincidences, such as the different scales from which to tackle the subject, the importance of play spaces, as well as - at least in the calls - an optimism for the role of architecture.
Nevertheless, the comparison shows that there is still a long way to go before the results of this research can be applied in the imminent future to the common space of all. If in the proposals of the pavilions of the Mostra the weight of formal innovation or the rhetoric of the event strains the transmission to everyday and permanent reality, in the research published in this issue there is still a process of metamorphosis of the results to incorporate them into the practice of the architectural project. In this sense, the texts collected in this issue are shoots that must grow with consistency, emerging as soon as possible from the interior of architecture for the revision of the common, everyday space that belongs to everyone.
