Reseña.Gracias a la iniciativa de las investigadoras Mirella Menon y Maria Pia Tamburlini, en 2009 sale a la luz la primera antología que reedita las cinco primeras obras de la escritora judía de origen napolitano, nacionalizada alemana y magrebí de adopción, Elisa Chimenti, conocida como la Donna mediterranea. De entre estas cinco obras, destaca la que se podría considerar como la primera novela no autoficcional ni autobiográfica del Marruecos independiente: Au cœur du harem, roman marocain (1958) de la editorial parisina Scorpion. Elisa Chimenti será la primera escritora de Marruecos que publique una novela de ficción que la desmarque de la novela autobiográfica e identitaria de sus coetáneos marroquíes, considerados los padres fundacionales de la novela nacional del país: Ahmed Sefrioui, autor de La Boîte à merveilles (1954) y La Maison de la servitude (1973) y de Driss Chraibi, autor de Le Passé simple (1954).
