This study offers new data on the construction of one of the most important examples of civil architecture of the 18th century that are conserved in Jerez de la Frontera, the Palace of Marquess de Villapanés. In this way, details are exposed on the promoters of the work, the beginning of same in the 1744 and intervention of the architect Juan Diaz de la Guerra in 1776, of which a biographical review takes shelter at the end of the article.
