In 1679, Fray Alonso de Salizanes, bishop of Cordoba, called Pedro Roldán and Pedro de Mena so that each make a sculpture of the Immaculate. He chose the image made by Mena for the chapel of the Cathedral of Cordoba and the sculpture made by Roldán stayed in the church of Our Lady of Grace, Trinitarian friars. However, there is a difference of one meter between the two. For years we believe that this sculpture made by Mena, which is more than two meters, was not that competed with that made by Roldán. We have located another that might be the Immaculate presented Mena. It has similar dimensions to that made by Roldán, it is signed by Mena and it bears the shield of the bishop.
