SUMMARY The structural nature of parametric systems introduces comprehensive management in a project thereby enhancing the process. Eisenman introduced this syntactic direction for the architectural project, adopting the self-referential nature of Conceptual Art and leading to its ultimate consequences, denial of context and the importance of the process.
In this area, definition of the process, directing the use of its operations to a level of pure formal manipulation, can lead this autonomous form to acquire a prominence above any other issue, disregarding other considerations of the architectural process. The formal complexity of these systems makes the model acquire a vital role in comprehension of the projected space.
The parametric model, as digital materiality and direct transfer of digital information to the physical level, eliminates the process of abstraction and recreates with a high degree of realism the algorithms that later will define the space. The conceptual parametric model, dissociated from the context and evincing its process causes its formal dimension to prevail, and facing its instrumentality, enhances its iconic value.
