Abstract
The aim of this article is to analyse contemporary paintings of a selection of artists belonging to the millennial generation in Western society, focusing on the representation of space that takes place in these works. In addition, we also pay attention to the relationship between our conceptualization of space and the influence of the great number of images from mass media through which we daily receive and generate information.
Having identified relevant characteristics that define contemporary society in theories of several authors such as Heidegger, Vattimo, Bauman, Debord and Baudrillard, we deduce that these are directly reflected in new painting works of these artists whom we have interviewed to obtain concrete data that check our hypothesis.
