In 1564, the half-breed Juana de Salas, a minor, denounced Inés de Paz, widow of the oidor Pedro de Morones, before the Audiencie of New Galicia, for the salary she owed him for her services as a servant. This work aims to analyse the principles and procedures of the current labour process that can be observed in this lawsuit, despite the temporal distance and the differences in its legal frameworks.
