Abstract

When Don Miguel de Espinosa Maldonado Saavedra Tello de Guzmán -Conde del Águila and an enlightened man with a laste for Art and Humanism- dies on the 28th of January 1784, his collection of paintings was outstanding. It included 536 works of art; 243 of these pieces were paintings by the fines! artists in the History of Art -Velázquez, Tiziano, Rubens, ... - painters who are representative of the european art-Italian, Flemish and Spanish Art and, of course, many of them belong to the Escuela Sevillana: Murillo, Zurbarán, Valdés Leal, ... -since the 16th century to 18th. In addition to these paintings there were also 206 drawings by spanish artists like Alonso Cano, and finally, 87 paintings by unknow painters.
