Abstract

In this article it is tried to give to know the figure, and the wellknown work, of the most important barrista from Sevilla in the XIX century. After going by Madrid and Canarias, he settled down in Seville toward 1870, where it installed a shop of enormous prestige and it visits forced of tourists interested in artistic souvenirs, to those that offered a version modernize of the popular small terracotta sculptures of their native Granada, but overcoming the romantic picturesquism for the sake of a bigger realism, in the one that for adhesion to the new currents of the market suppressed the coiour and it also introduced the bas-relief.
