UN CRUCIFICADO HISPANO-FILIPINO DE MARFIL EN EL HOSPITAL DEL POZO SANTO DE SEVILLA

Abstract

In this work, we present a new ivory Hispanic-Philippine Crucified, datable in the third quarter of the 170' century and on display in the Hospital del Pozo Santo museum in Seville. A great part of the material history of this Crucified is explained by the documentation we have found. Toe documenta reveal that its first owner was the Augustinian Fray Bemabé de la Cruz who brought it from Rome to Spain alter having obtained several indulgences from Pope Paul V.
