NEW PAINTING BY THE MEXICAN ARTIST ANTONIO DE TORRES

Abstract

This article contributes knowledge about a hitherto unheard-of work of art by Antonio de Torres, Mexican painter, which is in San Juan de la Palma´s Church (Seville). It is a representation of the Virgin of Guadalupe that miss Sebastiana Salazar gave as a present to San Juan de la Palma´s Church. The discovery of the Sebastiana Salazar´s testament and the study of this painting has allowed attributing its authorship to Antonio de Torres and including it in his catalogue.
