Abstract

This article aims to be a contribution to gender research in the city of Seville. It focuses on the work of three Seville-based women artists, Mar García Ranedo, María Cañas and María José Gallardo, and attempts to shed some light on the heritage of feminism or female art via an exploration of gender discourses and related codes, techniques and technologies. It is also an endeavour to add to the visibility of women artists and their role in art creation over the last forty years, and to highlight the quality of the investigated artists.
