This paper focuses on the analysis and development of silver thrones and chairs, used as an attribute of power. It is considered that the origin of the silver furniture originated in Spain, growing use in 17th century European courts. The wealth of the material led that the civil field passed to the religious. There are a significant number of these seats in temples of the Southern Viceroyalties, mainly in the former Audiencia of Quito, where they are preserved for the iconographic representations of Christ in Majesty, dress sculptures seated in rich armchairs lines with such valuable metal.
