LA TORRE DEL ORO EN EL SIGLO XIX: DOCUMENTOS INÉDITOS

Abstract

The 19th century was a critica! one for Seville's Torre de Oro, which was even on the point of disappearing. This article presents a series of previously unpublished documents referring to the tower's various uses and the works of restoration it underwent in the course of the century. The most important restoration carried out was that of 1899-1900, as a result of which it acquired its present aspect.
