Abstract

The present article examines the phenomenon of postmodernism, with particular emphasis on its expression in the plastic arts. lt begins by dealing with the key theoretical ideas which sustain and define it, reflecting the opinions of its main representatives and attempting to establish the historical and social relationships which may help in the understanding of its origins.
