Relations between these two centres are examined from three different angles: analysis aimed at distinguishing products by visual examination of whole pieces from museums and private collections; the use of documentary evidence and, lastly, the application of archaeological evidence. We conclude by ruling out any direct influence of Francisco Niculoso on Talavera, and by confirming the imitation of Talavera ceramics in Seville and the exportation from Seville of products of lower quality and eclectic style, compared with the high quality of Talavera ceramics which basically dominated the home market.
