The present article examines the founding and construction of the Beaterio (Lay Religious Community) de la Trinidad in 18th century Seville, thanks to American patronage. In this connexion reference is made to the two voyages undertaken by the founder of this religious institution to New Spain (1746-1750, 1753-1758). The paper goes on to study and catalogue the two works of art she brought from Mexico in 1750: a statute of the Child Jesus and a painting of the Virgin of Guadalupe.
