REBELLION AND HOPE, THE FRUIT OF A VISIONARY: BERTHA VON SUTTNER

Abstract

From the thematic area women, rebellion and writing, I propose to stop in a hopeful rebellion, in the Austrian writer Bertha von Suttner. Since the middle of the 19th century and the first half of the 20th, political and economic upheavals mark a substantial change in European society and are a point of reflection not only for Bertha von Suttner's critical gaze, but also for her successful performance. In 1889, he published the book: Down with Arms! (Die Warfen nieder!), Shows a rebellious path in the face of unnecessary suffering. The ethics of rulers and international law, together with the dignity of individuals and their bonds of fraternity create the new space that she proposes to articulate, this thought is the subject of this article.
