This text seeks to clarify the notion of truth in Robert Bresson's Notes on the cinematographer. The analysis will lead us to establish a separation between the concepts of "reality" and "truth", despite being linked. The notion of "reality" will be fundamentally connected to the notion of indexicality. The "truth" will consist, on the other hand, in the opening or possibility of the meaning of that "real" that is not offered. This tension between "truth" and "reality" integrates, in itself, two other dialectics: between immanence and transcendence and between the activity and passivity of that "real".
