The objective of this essay is to understand, in the Phenomenology of the spirit, how the first dialectical movement that occurs in consciousness as soon it is recognized as self-consciousness. Hegel’s analysis in the first three chapters: sensible certainty, perception and strength and understanding, will be addressed here, but only as antecedents of Self-consciousness, hence the analysis that is devoted to them is not so exhaustive in its conceptual approach as the concept of self-consciousness, the core of this section.
