Abstract

Teleworking or working from home has developed progressively in recent decades. The factors that have most favoured its growth have been the improvement of human capital and telecommunications infrastructures, being crucial aspects for the use of the necessary elements to carry out remote work and the use of the necessary equipment. The advance of globalization and the digitization of the economy has been in line with the increase in this type of work. The situation that occurred as a result of Covid-19 has push forward to increase the use of this type of work. This paper studies the data of work from home or telework in the context of the European Union and its evolution as a consequence of the Covid-19 Pandemic. Differences are observed at the territorial, sectoral, family and educational levels due to the lack of physical and human capital and also to the particular characteristics of each type of activity.
