ALONSO MARTÍNEZ, SCULPTOR, AND HIS WORK IN THE BADAJOZ’S CATHEDRAL

Abstract

Alonso Martínez was one of the most signifi cant sculptors in Seville in the middle of the seventeenth century. From Castille, his roving artistic development betwen Seville and Cadiz allow him to work with the weighty sculptors and architects in everythins areas. I wish to emphasize his work with the architec Blas de Escobar in the main retablo of the Zafra’s Colegita and Badajoz’s Cathedral, I show this last work in this article.
