Abstract

This article announces an important collection of documents that allows us to know an altarpiece that was designed for the chapel of Don Juan Garcia and Doña Leonor de Almansa in the convent of Our Lady of Grace of Huelva. This work, funded by the wealth of America, was given to the sculptor Juan Giralte and the painter Juan de Zamora, and was created between the years 1562 and 1564. These two artists, who usually worked together in Seville in the Sixteenth century, are once again put in connection with this work. Further, this study adds a new creation to their respective biographies.
