Abstract

The main purpose of these paper is to place the Prioral Church of El Puerto de Santa María (Cádiz) in the west andalusian Seventeenth century arquitectural context and to connect this original work with the late reactivation of the gothic patrons in the south of Spain. Antón Martín Calafate, the author of this reform project, could be studied from these new stylistical perspective as the propeler of these “Gothic Barroque”, as it has been named by several scholars.
