The city gate was known as "Postigo del Carbón" (Coal Gate). Most of the goods brought into the metropolis came in through this gate, which lacked a study documenting its reforms and later removal in the second half of the sixteenth century. The documents concerning these works kept in the "Archivo Histórico Municipal" are shown and studied in this article.
