Abstract

A painting recently restored that represents an Allegory of the Dominican Order is preserved at the Parish Church of Santa María Magdalena in Seville. The intervention in the painting has allowed its correct study, resulting in that it may be a work done by the Sevillian painter Sebastián de Llanos Valdés (c. 1605-1677). The iconographic and symbolic study of this painting shows deep spiritual concepts, always linked and protected by political power.
