Abstract

Oliva Sabuco was a 16th century Spanish philosopher. His work New Philosophy (1587), of a scientific-philosophical nature and in which he transmits his own thoughts, makes Oliva a woman ahead of her time. In order to know this author, it is important to analyze the sociocultural context, as well as the conditions and difficulties that women had in her time.
