Abstract

Analyze the narrative structure of the novel Carmen, from Prosper Mérimée, and observes their literary characteristics. Proposes the observation of the narrative structure of the opera Carmen, from Bizet, and compares the two. The adaptations of the work of Mérimée for audiovisual language proposed by Bizet permeate through a counting process that distinguishes the use of signs and codes for cultures of word and images. Consequently, we propose a discussion of how meanings are present in the adaptation process, as well as what are dialogic and intertextual relations expressed in it.
