Resumen
Macbeth ha sido uno de los argumentos que el relato cinematográfico ha utilizado para reflejar el mito de la pérdida del paraíso por ambición y soberbia desmedidas. La adaptación de la tragedia de Shakespeare ha seguido caminos diversos: la fidelidad al texto original, la modernización del mismo o el cambio de registro genérico –hacia la comedia o el cine de gánsteres– son algunos de ellos. Por otro lado, la herencia que los personajes de la obra shakesperiana dejan en el universo fílmico va mucho más allá de las adaptaciones más o menos declaradas.
