Facing cowardice or on the principle of waymaking

Abstract

This text, in the format of a philosophical essay, essentially asks: What does a subject require to become an agent? Through an analysis of the notions of freedom proposed by Arendt, Berlin, Constant, it discusses the relevance of freedom, character, courage, and cowardice for agency. Exploring other forms of knowledge such as music and the mystical, it reflects on the possibilities that exist in other spheres of existence to achieve subject agency.
